National QMED: Electrician/Refrigerating Engineer

Description

QMED - Electrician. In order to be occupied as a QMED a person has to have a Merchant Mariner's Document issued by the United States Coast Guard with a QMED certification. Applicants for QMED are required to pass a QMED General Knowledge Examination and the Electrician rating examination. Any applicant whose merchant mariner#s document is endorsed as QMED Oiler and /or Fireman/Watertender and successfully completed a 120-hour QMED-Electrician course will satisfy the requirements of 46 CFR 12.15-9 for the Electrician examination modules, if presented within one year of the completion of training.
