Description
The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), Rigger II certification validates a rigger's skill and ability to handle and move loads. The certification level is based upon the rigger's training, understanding, skills, and abilities in the areas of selection, inspection, and use of rigging equipment. The Rigger Level I certification is a prerequisite for this certification. Level I riggers perform basic, repetitive rigging tasks when the weight, center of gravity, rigging, and rigging configuration are known. The Certified Rigger Level II can use rigging capacity to select rigging components and methods. Unsupervised, a Rigger Level II can: estimate load weight and center of gravity, identify lift points, determine and choose to rig based on loading, conduct pre-use inspection of rigging and lift points, use advanced knowledge to identify and attach rigging and understand load dynamics and associated hazards. Crane operators must meet NCCCO's age, substance abuse, and other requirements. Candidates must pass both a practical and a written exam.
